CHAPTER ONE

1.0  INTRODUCTION

I have undergone my industrial training at ministry of work and transport Haliru Abdu, Birnin Kebbbi, Kebbi State. Base on my field as a student of building technology. This industrial training program started from 23^rd October, 2017 to 9^th February, 2018.

As you all know, the department of building technology deals with constructions work, so that is why I was attach to the BILAL COMPANY NIGERIA LEMITED, which has taken the project of renovation of kebbi state central market.

Every serious student have to be desired over what practical aspect really means, furthermore, this report accumulate all this practical aspect that I went through this course of my industrial training.

1.1BREIF HISTORY OF MINISTRY OF WORK AND TRANSPOR

     Ministry of works and transport was established since the creation of kebbi state in 1991 headed by Hon. Commissioner of the state. The organizations operate multi-activities on works and transport of the state for the purpose of improving of the state.

          Today the organization having some department which are : Architectural Department, Building Department, Electrical Department, Transport Admin E.T.C.

It enable it function on series of manner

CHAPTER TWO

2.0 BUILDING COMPONENT

          We have many type of building component, but there are commonly use, which are:

1-    Wheel barrow

2-    Sprit level

3-    Building square

4-    Shovel

2.1 GENERAL INTRODUCTION FOR THE DEPARTMENT INDUSTRY SUCH AS: - Architect, structural, electrical, mechanical quantity surveyor, building department, with their director and deputy director assistant and the sporting staff.

2.2 UNDERSTANDING THE VIREOUS PROFESSION IN BUILDING INDUSTRY SUCH AS: - Architect, structure, electrical, mechanical, quantity survey, building engineer.

Structural:- structural are in charge of reinforcement, arrangement such as:- linter, pillars, slap, chapping, sand, cement and aggregate.

2.4 INTRODUCTION TO (BILAL AFRICAN OPERATION NIGERIA AT NEW MARKET AREA)

          Side Engineering: Provide technical advice about plan, organize and supervise construction project.

Project coordinator: - is the member of a project management team responsible for keeping the project organize and running.

Smoothly and works alongside to track and dispense all of information of in various team reed to do their jobs.

TEAM OF WORK

Team of work:- is a generally understand as the willingness of a group of people to together to achieve of common aim.

CLERK OF WORK

Clerk of work:- after abbreviated (C.O.W) is employed by an achieve of a client on a construction site.

2.5 SITE CLEARANCE

Site Clearance:- Before building operation on a site can begin, it is necessary to clear the turf and vegetable soil from the land upon which the structure is self will stand.

2.6 SITE INVESTIGATION

Details of the sub-soil include soil type, consistency or strength soil structure, moisture, completion and the pressure of roots of all depth from nature of the sub soil the bearing capacity, seasonal volume chance and the possible ground moll.

2.7 BUILDING

          Building:- is the combination of for walls foundation, roof, door, windows and flow e.t.c.

COMPONENT OF BUILDING

Building Component:- are foundation, wall, roof, window, floor, wall.

IMPORTANT OF BUILDING

          To protect us from sun heat, rain it help us to keep storage it give shelter to human being from our weather, a container from living.

PRELIIMINARY OF BUILDING

Access road and temporary electricity provide water to the site office, store, to store various things such as wheel barrow, trowel, shovel, cement, head pan and order instrument and other partition spaces is e.g iron bedside, capitol side e.t.c.

2.8 SETTING OUT

Setting Out: - is the process of transferring with height degree of skill and accuracy their details of the foundation plant from the drawing sheets and to the ground, with pag, line and tape.

THE 3.4.5 METHOD

          This method is under where the length to be measured in small.

1.     Mark out the building line

2.     Pegs are driven to the ground to mark the length along the from face of the building.

3.     Using two tapes 4 units of length (sym 4m) and 3 unit of length (Say 3 in) are measured out along the length and breadth the corner.

2.9 PROFIT

Profit: - are set up at each corner of the building. Each set look two ways along adjacent the building concrete foundation and wall, building lines may be stretch from profit to practice with all that string around then is no room to get in to excavation for the foundation.

PEG

This peg is fixed of the corner of a site in which all the level of the site are taken.

PEG MEASURE

Measure the pegs heart get place in the fabric measuring tape around the pig, rust behind the front legs. Note the pig circumference in inches and the length to.

FLOOR PLAN OF 10 BLOCK OF 10 SHOPS

We learn how to drown floor plan for one block of 10 members of shops.

SITE CLEARANCE

We learn how to do the suet clearance of one block of 20 members of shop. I observed they carried out the profit within line and peg them did the setting out and trench excavation of one meter depth and the wealth of foundation footing is 0.88 and the wealth of our column pouring is one meter by one meter.

     Then they carried out the leveling and compacting of the both side and the bottom, they applied ant termite treatment.

     Also our concrete in reinforcement column footing and wall flouting was place the pillars concrete footing too was plag in the foundation.

Then I notice that after those they comment and the foundation sub-structure. 

2.10 ROOF

Roof: is a top most covering in a building: - it is during the finishing of a building. It prevents a lot of sound (minimizing incoming sound) dust, wind and rain and also it helps the occupant cover their privacy.

CHAPTER THREE

PROBLEMS

The following are the problems encountered during the industrial training.

1.     Due to the financial condition of the country, the work site are been stagnant which lead back of preferred site visitation.

2.     Lack of transport money.

CONCLUTION

I will like to appreciate the student training work experience scheme (S.I.W.E.S) for given me this opportunity to put this theory in practical aspect or experience at the end of my study. And I hope the institution of higher learning put more effort in supporting the industrial training program to every  angle, so that the student who are willing and able to come to this stage will be more expose in to practical work in the field of their profession.

          In fact, I am grateful to the ministry of work and transport especially building department, because they expose me to deferent part on the practical work on my field of study on industrial training attachment (I.T) to get a lot of site experience on various part of work.

          The (S.I.W.E.S) enable me to understand the various relationship and working into defenders in several of organization.   

RECOMANDATION

Having undergone this training and knowing the challenge, I will like to recommend the industrial training found to also organize workshop for student who are preparing to go for S.I.W.E.S training and also pleas that government should encourage student with the 10,000 naira promised to be paid to all student that went for the S.I.W.E.S training.
